eMedicalCoach is aimed at people with intellectual disabilities (Down syndrome e.g.), who live independently in their homes or are in a situation of transition to independent living. According to experts who take care of these people, difficulties are observed when carrying out their daily chores, thus is necessary to develop appropriate technology platforms that facilitate such an act.The main aim of the project is to ensure that these people manage to create healthy eating habits and to know, at any time, the type of food that they have to buy, make, cook or consume. Thereby, irregularities in their health systems, such as hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid, obesity will be avoided. This issues occur quite frequently in these people and are a fact that causes greater concern among their own family, caregivers and health experts. Therefore, it will be provided on one hand, the technological infrastructure necessary to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and support around nutritional health, and on the other hand, the necessary training will be given, through of individual and group coach sessions, in order to acquire the patterns and healthier lifestyles and living habits.This initiative will provide tools to help people with intellectual disabilities to independently perform activities of daily living, in order to get balanced diet of proteins, fats and carbohydrates.Collaborating companies
